One of my all time favorite dishes are stuffed peppers in a nice thick tomato soup. I`m sure most of you know what I`m talking about but just to be sure, here is a link where you can find the explanation.
My mother is the expert in making this dish so these stuffed peppers were made according to her famous recipe. Be sure to make this dish while peppers are still in season because the ones you buy in your grocery store aren`t as good. You could freeze a bunch of peppers in late summer so you can enjoy eating this dish during the cold winter days. It will warm you up!

Ingredients
400 g minced meat
1 handful rice
400 ml passata
750 ml water
1 egg
salt, pepper
1 onion
3 tsp paprica
7 medium sized peppers (you can use a combination of green, yellow and red peppers)
7 tbsp oil
3 tbsp flour
Preparation
In a large bowl add meat, rice, egg, chopped onion, salt, pepper, paprica and combine well using your hand.
Put in the fridge until you clean your peppers.
Wash and drain peppers. Remove stem and seeds. If you wish, you can blanche your cleaned peppers for a minute or two but do this only if your peppers are hot.
Now, stuff the peppers with meat mixture all the way to the top. If you have any leftover meat, just make some meatballs.
In a large saucepan, heat oil on very low. Add flour and mix well with a wooden spoon. Cook over low heat 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly. Add passata and water. Bring to boil. When the soup starts to boil, it is time to put your stuffed peppers in. Add salt and pepper and cook on medium heat for 60 minutes (or until meat is cooked).
Serve with mashed potatoes.

Jos ove male papricie....da znam gdje stanujes sad' bih se pozvala na rucak!:)
savrseno!! i moja mama slicno sprema i ona je maher za paprike:)) mislim da smo svi odrasli na ovome. ja jedino ne mogu tu kuhanu papriku pojesti, ali za ostalo apsolutno nema problema:)))

Još dok ima paprika treba iskoristiti pa napraviti ovo klasično jelo. Slike su super!
Baš mi dragi govori neki dan da bi mogli napraviti tonu punjenih paprika pa ih pospremiti u naš novu škrinju i jesti ih mjesecima. :)))

Klasik. Uvijek sam za! Iako moram priznati da do negdje 18. godine nisam to mogla smisliti! NO onda su mama i tata otišli na more, a ja ostala sama doma (prilika za tulumarenje koja se ne propušta:), i nakon 5 dana pizze, čevapa, mesa i bureka, zaželila sam se nečega na žlicu. Susjeda mi je pondila filanu papriku i polizala sam prste. Kad je čovijek gladan, sve paše. I tako sam ja počela jesti filanu papriku! :)))
Zrinka, sva sreća što si probala jer ovo je jedno od onih jela koje većina ljudi voli... iako mnogi ne jedu papriku, ali meso i juhicu svi vole :)
